I grew up believing that my hair was so beautiful, healthy and long. Until one day, it was no longer long…. Because I chopped all my hair off during a very bad breakdown in my life. Immediately I hated it. I wanted my hair to grow back at its quickest rate. But I also became tired of using and mixing the same oils in my hair to try and promote growth. Instead I did research to how I can get my hair to be at its most healthiest state in order to promote growth. In the meantime, I wore and purchased so many wigs, predominantly 100 % Indian human hair wigs. And of course those aren’t cheap and the cost kept racking up. But also, when the average consumer is purchasing human hair, we tend to gravitate towards Indian human hair because we perceive that type of hair to be “good hair” or simply the most sought after because of the texture, shine, density- all the positive things. We are conditioned to believe that that specific type of hair is one of the most beautiful types of hair, while forgetting that ours is just as beautiful. Instead of spending money to mimic and install hair that doesn’t belong to me, why not try to figure out how and why their hair is so sought after and apply that to my own scalp and texture.
